What are the foundations of success in life?
What factors contribute to our achievements?
I once held a personal theory about this, centered around four key success factors:
- Inherent talent
- Upbringing in a successful family
- Birthplace in a thriving city
- Birthplace in a prosperous country
To have a potential for success, at least one of these factors must be present. Effective goal setting and hard work are essential in all scenarios.
When someone possesses an evident talent—musical abilities, artistic inclinations, poetic flair, mathematical prowess, exceptional memory, inventive ingenuity, etc.—achieving success in life is significantly easier. Talent evolves into a profession, a cherished pursuit, or a self-made enterprise. Gifted individuals typically discover their talents during childhood. From an early age, their path in life often becomes quite clear.
Being born into a supportive and successful family also plays a crucial role in determining one’s path to success. When a family or lineage boasts a history of notable accomplishments, the success of future generations is almost guaranteed. In esoteric terms, this situation could be described as favorable family or ancestral karma. A nurturing and loving family environment provides an exceptional foundation for life, as children grow up surrounded by love and joy. Moreover, the mere presence of a wise individual, such as a parent or grandparent, in a child’s life can prove decisive. For instance, consider the impact of parents teaching their children meditation or a foreign language early in life. A single such skill can lay the groundwork for future success. Nevertheless, familial love alone is often sufficient for us to succeed.
If we are fortunate enough to be born in a thriving city or a prosperous nation, we gain access to essential infrastructure and the company of successful people. For example, job opportunities are far more abundant in a major metropolis than in rural areas; and receiving a Nobel Prize in science becomes considerably more feasible if you hail from the United States.
But what about those who lack any of the four advantages mentioned above? Are they doomed to a life of failure? Fortunately, not at all. There is a way out!
The fifth, and most powerful, factor of success is God / the Higher Self. Regardless of life’s challenges, maintaining a conscious connection with the Higher Self will inevitably lead to success. Our triumph is assured by the realization of the Creator inside us and the embodiment of His or Her presence in our lives. This necessitates a conscious quest for God, particularly within ourselves. Faith in God’s love and care is paramount during this search. We must believe that our success in life is divinely ordained. This faith stems from the depths of our souls. It is an unwavering and unfounded belief. It is a profound connection with God that transcends our understanding.
Furthermore, with God in our lives, the concept of success changes altogether. We become more authentic, and our values and aspirations elevate to a very high level.
Each person’s path to God is unique. It could be a religious doctrine, a spiritual journey, or simply a series of exceptional, often challenging, circumstances that unexpectedly lead to spiritual awakening. One way or another, God is the foundation of our existence. Universal love encompasses all.
I hope you cultivate a connection with the Higher Self and witness your life transform for the better. Be happy and blessed!
